The partners of the Re-Aps project were present at the “Textiles Recycling Expo”. Organised by AMI <\/a>& UKFT<\/a>, it brought together professionals from the textile, recycling, waste management and production sectors with the aim of focusing on cutting-edge technologies and innovations. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the two days, Fedustria<\/a><\/strong>, Centexbel<\/a><\/strong>, Ceti <\/a><\/strong>and EuraMaterials <\/a><\/strong>were at the heart of the Textiles Recycling Expo<\/a><\/strong> in Brussels, joining policymakers, recyclers, technology pioneers and industry leaders to shape the future of circular textiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trade fair aims to promote innovation<\/strong>, partnerships and education in the field of textile recycling, with an emphasis on cutting-edge technologies<\/strong> and circular solutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karla Basselier<\/a><\/strong>, CEO of Fedustria <\/a><\/strong>recalled that \u201cWe don’t just need more legislation, we need smart legislation. Not more obligations, but frameworks that enable real markets for recycled textiles. <\/em>.

The textile industry is at the forefront of circular innovation, but its expansion requires a systemic shift. Recycling must become an investment. Circularity must be economically viable throughout the entire value chain. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, we must move from obligation to opportunity: EU legislation must enable, not just restrict, particularly to foster collaboration across the entire value chain. This is also an objective of the Re-Aps project! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, in Belgium, Retexbel is ready: together with Creamoda Belgian Fashion<\/a> & Comeos<\/a>, we have launched a Belgian Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) organization for traceability and local reuse. With RE-APS<\/a>, the new cross-border project, we will further intensify the recycling of polyester waste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
